Shane Brinning

M. Shane Brinning hails from Keota, Iowa, in the southeastern part of the state. Shane owns and operates Brinning Genetics, where he raises and sells both crossbred and purebred show pigs.

A graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Animal Science, Shane was a member of the 1993 National Champion Livestock Judging Team and earned the title of National Champion Swine Judge. These accomplishments opened doors for him to judge shows across the country for many years.

During his time at Iowa State, Shane met his future wife, Kathleen. Together, they raised three daughters and recently celebrated the arrival of their first grandson. Over the years, Brinning Genetics has produced numerous champion hogs nationwide. Today, Shane enjoys selling pigs to the children—and even grandchildren—of his first customers, a testament to his lasting impact on the industry.

Outside of work, Shane loves traveling with his family, especially visiting National Parks across the United States.
