Biography
Brett Kaysen, Ph.D., is the senior vice president of producer and state engagement for the National Pork Board (NPB). He leads the organization-wide grassroot relations effort to support pork producers in their priorities. In his previous role as NPB’s senior vice president of sustainability, he worked to strengthen the food chain and consumer understanding of pork production practices.
Before joining NPB, Brett was the western regional business director for the U.S. Pork Business at Zoetis, leading a team of 11 sales professionals serving pork producers and swine veterinarians. Before Zoetis, Brett spent five years as an interim undergraduate teaching coordinator and 13 years in various instructor positions with the Colorado State University (CSU) Animal Sciences Department.
Brett holds a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, a master’s in Agricultural Extension Education, and a doctorate in Animal Sciences Management Systems from Colorado State University. He resides in Iowa, where he and his family raise pigs. They compete in local and national stock shows and sell meat directly to consumers.
