Biography
Dr. Scott Schaake was raised on a cow-calf ranch/row crop operation near Lawrence, Kansas. He graduated from Kansas State University in 1984 with a B.S. in Animal Sciences and Industry. He earned his M.S. at Clemson University and Ph.D. at the University of Kentucky, specializing in the area of Meat Science.
He served as the livestock judging coach at Kansas State University, where he led many of his teams to National Championships throughout his tenure. Dr. Schaake has judged livestock shows in 44 states, Canada, South America and Mexico.
Scott and his wife own and operate Schaake Farms, Inc., a purebred Simmental operation. This family operation utilizes online and live auctions to market elite genetics throughout North America. His family members include wife Kandi, son Shane and his wife Melissa, son Shilo and his wife Jamie.
